The Ponies!

Although I have not kept up with my blog and portfolio, I'm still around.  Work has kept me pretty busy and as such, I have not done much with my blog over the past year.  While the rest of this year may not see many updates as it's nearly over, I will make an effort to update more often.  For now, here I am at the races!

Behind the lens at a football (soccer) game

I thought I would start the year with a short and simple post featuring just photos from a working press point of view during a football game in Japan.  Yes, I decided to do a selfie too...

You never know when the moment will come

I was at a press conference for the new Nissan GT-R last October where Usain Bolt was a special guest.  Featuring the Olympic gold medal winner who just happens to be very camera friendly was a great way to get the media to take note of a new car.  The event was packed with more journalists in one location than I've seen for a while before or since.

PENTAX-07 Mount Shield Lens

My apologies for not posting in over a month.  It's been rather busy for me and I cold not post some of my work yet due to publishing schedules with clients.  What I can finally do is post about the new Pentax body cap lens I was able to try out.

Pentax DA 560mm f5.6

As a photojournalist, I have a keen interest in new equipment.  Even more so when I feel it can really help with my work.  The longest lens I own happens to be a 300mm prime.  It's able to provide me with some real reach, but this new 560mm lens is really something special.

Hashimoto Apology

Today was a very interesting press conference by the mayor of Osaka, Toru Hashimoto.  He was there to issue an apology for his suggestion that the United States military make use of legal sexual services as a method of relief to reduce the rate of rapes committed by American servicemen.  The entire speech plus Q&A lasted nearly three hours.
